"I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." ~Bob Seger |

The letters "CE" are the abbreviation of
the French phrase "Conformité Européene" which literally means
"European Conformity".
Why does Snapdoodle Toys seek out the CE
designation? “It’s not just about whether something is made in China….most European toys are now made in China, as well. The difference is the higher standards of quality enforced by the European Community that we Americans are finally beginning to demand for our families. Washington now has the toughest toy laws in the world and we need the rest of America to follow suit.” -Co-owner Rob Pickering
With the ongoing threat of lead content in toys these days, we at Snapdoodle Toys are dedicated to providing alternative safe or "green" toys to sell. We realize that your child's toys should pay special attention to responsible use of our earth's resources and guarantee safe, lead-free play for your children! We have many brands that are recognized as being "green", such as Plan Toys, Playful World, Papo and Schleich, and many more! Many of these brands participate in "fair trade" practices. What does this mean? "Fair trade is an organized social movement and market-based approach to alleviating global poverty and promoting sustainability. The movement advocates the payment of a fair price as well as social and environmental standards in areas related to the production of a wide variety of goods."
"Green" or environmentally friendly products are produced using practices that are sustainable or have minimal impact on natural resources. Generally accepted "green" methods would create products using recycled materials, harvesting only end-of-life trees for wood, replanting multiple trees for any tree harvested and using only organic--or chemical and pesticide-free, raw materials.
Come take a look at some of our earth-friendly toys, they are made from sustainable sources, renewable wood, vegetable dyes, minimalist packaging, organic toys, environmentally-themed toys, toys made from recycled or reused materials, toys utilizing a child's energy instead of batteries, toys ethically manufactured by socially responsible companies.
For a detailed list of recalled toys, you can go to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) or to American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA).
