Art Classes for Children, Teens & Adults

Join us in welcoming artist Charlene Collins Freeman to the DoodleZone for art this spring! Charlene will be teaching classes for older children & adults; Miss Margo continues to teach our Preschool/Kindergarten classes on Thursday mornings.

Additional art supplies for Charlene's classes can be purchased at the store, if you like what you used in class!

Watercolors for Beginners (Adults)
Wednesdays 10:00am - 12:00pm
$25 per class*, Charlene Freeman, instructor

A step-by-step introduction to the magic of watercolor. Come learn the nuts and bolts of watercolor painting as we learn about watercolor paper, paints, brushes, values, drawing and more in a fun, nurturing atmosphere...you'll be amazed at how fast you progress. Learn to see like an artist, develop basic drawing and brushstroke skills, learn the value of light and shadow to add drama to your paintings and how to enjoy the process! Participate in creative exercises and build the skills to take your artwork to the next level. Does not include supplies; when you register we'll provide you with a list.

Drawing & Painting (10 - 12 year olds)
Wednesdays 5pm - 6pm
$15 per class*, Charlene Freeman, instructor

Drawing is the foundation of the visual arts. In this class we will build a solid foundation of drawing skills to strengthen your ability to express your creativity! Students will learn techniques to render realistically using line and contour, shape and form, light and shadow, space and depth, proportion and principles of composition. Students will also be guided step-by-step through basic watercolor techniques. We will work with subject matter ranging from still lifes and photographs to abstraction and imagination. *Supplies included.

Mastering Art (4 to 6 year olds)
Thursdays 3:30pm - 4:30pm
$15 per class*, Charlene Freeman, instructor

Students will create fun and exciting projects designed to build their confidence and understanding of drawing and watercoloring art principles. The art projects are a medium through which your child learns to express their ideas, visualizations and emotions. *Supplies included.
